A little background to my book review activity

I am a Physicist, a Metallurigst, A Quality Management Professional, and have deep interest in other areas of Management, Training, Holistic Health, Spirituality etc. Thus my reading spans many fields.  

I am an avid book lover and the next step was to become a reviewer, which I did a few years ago. Starting with e-Books, I built up a fairly diversified and if I may say so, impressive portfolio of books that I reviewed over the last few years. For the last 2 years, due to several health issues (mainly neurological), which have reduced my attention span, I have piled up a big backlog of books, mostly non-fiction. I am now better and hope to clear that backlog in the next few months.

What type of books do I review?

Diverse types, including fiction (mostly SF, though I have done other types including spiritual fiction), science, health, management, psychology, spirituality etc. Unless I agree before hand, don't send me e-Books. Too much eye strain. I will consider doing e-Books only if a pre-publication review (which goes on to the cover) is needed from me. Or only in exceptional cases where the author has a valid reason for not sending me the printed copy.   

Where do my reviews appear?  

Only in websites, and other internet resources. No print media.

I am reworking my review site, www.freewebs.com/swamyreviews to hold the reviews in proper classification.

I did post many of my reviews at www.amazon.com earlier but with their changed policy, they are insisting that I should purchase the book from them, which obviously I cannot. So, if you are very particular that my review should appear at www.amazon.com, my sincere regrets. Alternatively, if you can post the review on my behalf, I have no problem. 

Some of my reviews are appearing at www.oneindia.in and also at a few more websites. I will try to update this information on my blog and at www.freewebs.com/swamyreviews

In the case of 'health' related books, I also share my review and thus information about your book on several Yahoo Health Groups such as "Reiki_Path", "talkbach", "holistic-health" and many more. The total number of members who thus read about your book may well be over 10,000 and most of them are in USA, Canada and other western countries! So, do keep this in mind while considering my request for reviews! And equally importantly, if you are looking for exposure to Indian Markets, my apologies before hand, though slowly I am acquiring Indian readers too for my blogs, groups and websites!
